Woman, mother and entrepreneur: the story of Blanca Miñano, CEO of SKINVITY
by BelénCompartir
To mark International Women's Entrepreneurship Day , El Mundo interviewed Blanca Miñano , CEO and co-founder of SKINVITY , about an increasingly common challenge: balancing motherhood with entrepreneurship . Her story reflects not only her personal journey but also the reality of thousands of women who build professional projects without sacrificing their family life.
Starting a business as a mother: a real challenge
At 42, Blanca leads SKINVITY—a pioneering Spanish brand in cosmetic technology and wellness for home use —while also being the mother of a nine-month-old baby. Her experience has been marked by the constant search for balance between two worlds that demand dedication, energy, and presence.
“Having a partner demands a lot from you, but when you have a child it’s hard to find time for everything,” Blanca admits.
In the interview, she explains how, at first, she fell into the classic "I can do it all" trap , an idea that many female entrepreneurs share and that ends up generating pressure and burnout.
Over time, Blanca understood that balance doesn't come on its own, but requires defining spaces, setting healthy boundaries, and reorganizing priorities .
“I was trying to work from home to spend more time with my son, but it ends up getting mixed up and you feel like you’re not doing well in either place.”
Being an entrepreneur is not incompatible with being a mother
Despite the challenges, Blanca never considered giving up on her entrepreneurial journey. She firmly believes in the enormous potential of women within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“Women have many skills that allow us to be good entrepreneurs. We are perfectionists, persevering, good collaborators, and we work hard.”
Their current goal is to further professionalize SKINVITY so that the company becomes less dependent on a single person and grows sustainably.
Gender barriers still exist
The article also reflects on the difficulties faced by women entrepreneurs in Spain, especially regarding work-life balance . Although measures such as extended maternity leave exist, the reality is that women are the ones who use them most, something that can be even more complicated in the entrepreneurial world.
In this context, Blanca 's story highlights the importance of making visible and supporting female leadership within the business sector and, especially, in innovative fields such as beauty tech .
An inspirational role model for female entrepreneurs
Blanca Miñano's story speaks not only of effort and overcoming challenges, but also of the importance of humanizing success. Recognizing limitations, asking for help, and restructuring priorities are also part of growth, both personal and professional.
