El autocuidado es un derecho, no un deber

Self-care is a right, not a duty

by Myriam

As you know, at SKINVITY we like to take care of ourselves, to bring out the best version of ourselves, or at least try to. Self-care is a right, not a duty. And it's not a luxury, it's a priority.

We are passionate about cosmetic technology and cosmetics in general. And we firmly believe that establishing routines that combine consistency with enjoyment improves our bodies and, consequently, our minds . Having expressed our life's mission statement, we also advocate for self-care breaks, the rejection of imposed routines, and the recognition of the differences between women and their preferences (every woman and every stage of life is different and has different needs).

No two women are alike.

Some of us crave a break from pampering ourselves in the summer. Others, more disciplined with their routines, simply change them, adapting them to travel or a more relaxed lifestyle. Freedom is a vital principle, even in the world of beauty.

I only take Fixeye for the eye and face contour and Glo 190+ for the body. The first one takes up no space and is applied in a minute, and the second one for two reasons: I can't live without it and I apply it at night, after the shower, in 15 minutes.”

“In summer I long for the pool, sunsets on the beach, naps under fig trees or wherever I happen to be, reading, and lazing around . That, too, feels like self-care. I take care of the essentials : sun protection, facial cleansing, and body moisturizer. I give my devices a rest until September, when I'll be back with renewed energy.”

" For me, summer and self-care go hand in hand. Why? Because during the rest of the year I have less time to enjoy myself. That's why, on vacation, I travel equipped with all my devices and all my cosmetic products. I use them a lot every day, without rushing."

By researching and asking around, we realize that this diversity of beauty practices is more common than we thought . The concept of self-care is very broad: sometimes it means dedicating time to ourselves, getting a manicure or using our favorite device, and other times that mental relaxation involves doing absolutely nothing, reducing our routines to a minimum.

That's why we believe cosmetic technology has come to help us , to satisfy this need for independence and freedom from imposition. Because we don't depend on anyone to find that well-being that is defined differently by each woman. For some, self-care means exercising three times a week, for others it's watching their diet, and some women make their beauty rituals their personal sanctuary. There are also those who prefer to nourish their spirit and don't worry about their physical appearance. If you're here, you're probably not on that team. We do believe that feeling good on the inside is reflected on the outside, but also that feeling good on the outside has an impact on us on the inside .

Getting in shape is a very broad concept

Besides freedom as our guiding principle, we also champion a sense of humor as a tool that complements and alleviates the effects of time . Laughing at ourselves—at our unpainted nails —and sharing our worries with our friends helps us feel lighter and happier.
