Facial yoga works and you're going to love it

by Blanca

If we train our biceps, why not do the same with the more than 60 muscles in our face ? Facial yoga works , and you're going to love it. Trust us.

Magical muscles

You may have already heard about it in a beauty conversation with friends. But this is more than just a trend. Facial yoga works, for the same basic principle as any exercise that works a muscle. Nothing more, nothing less.

The complexity of facial expression arises from the magical coordination of all those muscles. Everything, from a mischievous wink to blowing a kiss, depends on them.

Coco Chanel said it best: “Nature gives you the face you have at twenty. It is up to you to deserve the face you have at fifty.” She probably did facial exercises too.

What is facial yoga?

To put it simply: it's facial exercise, consisting of a few easy-to-perform exercises. There are different techniques, some with ancient origins. The truth is, almost all the exercises share a similar foundation.

It's one of the recommended therapies for improving facial appearance and is also one of the least invasive. It's recommended for women and men of all ages. As you know, we love a bit of gossip, so here's some: it's the cosmetic secret of celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Meghan Markle, Poppy Delevingen, and even Madonna herself. If it works for them, it'll work for you too.

What are its benefits?

Many benefits, all demonstrable. In return, it requires consistency and discipline. It's not magic; it's exercise. The same thing that seems valid for the rest of your body and brings you so much joy when you start to notice the results.

1. It improves blood and lymphatic circulation, which in turn improves cell oxygenation and nutrition and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.

2. Tones muscles, helping to prevent or improve sagging, expression lines, and wrinkles.

3. It relaxes tension in the face and neck, releasing the stress that we accumulate throughout the day.

4. Softens dark circles and bags under the eyes.

5. It increases lip volume and improves their shape, highlighting their natural attractiveness.

6. It regenerates the skin and removes dead cells, resulting in smoother skin.

7. It relieves certain problems such as facial paralysis or retractile scars.

8. Improves unconscious expressive and postural gestures.

9. Harmonizes the features.

10. It creates a feeling of well-being and has a positive effect on mood.

In short, you'll feel great, your skin will be firmer, brighter, and fresher, and your face will be more vibrant, serene, and radiant. Coco Chanel would be proud.

When and how to practice it?

As you know, we're big advocates of enjoyable self-care . Therefore, everything we share with you is easy to do and can be practiced almost anywhere. We do recommend starting in front of a mirror to get the hang of it. Once you've mastered it, you can do it wherever you like—on the sofa, in front of your laptop… It only takes 10 minutes a day.

Another tip to keep in mind is not to overdo the pressure, especially around the eyes, but assuming these are exercises, you should notice that we are working muscles, not just stretching the skin.
