Guía básica para conocer y vencer a la celulitis

A basic guide to understanding and overcoming cellulite

by Blanca

We're worried about cellulite— that curse from the angry gods —and we know you are too (especially from April to September). Getting rid of it is incredibly difficult, but with the right treatments and a little discipline, it can be reduced , improved, diminished, and stopped. Yes, yours too.

Models have cellulite too.

Much has been written about this skin condition, which isn't serious, at least not from a medical standpoint, but it can be a cosmetic issue that undermines our self-esteem. We often talk about it, especially in spring and summer. These are the worries we put aside during the winter months , and which, when spring arrives, emerge from their slumber to bother us. But we don't like to be bothered; we prefer to learn and research, to fight and find solutions .

The first step to overcoming it is recognizing it, knowing what type of cellulite you have . Why is classifying it useful? Because you can go directly to the most efficient way to tackle it, depending on its stage.

What type of cellulite do I have?

Soft or flabby cellulite

The tissues appear soft and sway when moving. This is typical of inactive women and also of those who have lost weight suddenly.

  • The skin has a wavy appearance.
  • At rest, under a vertical light, the skin forms shadows.
  • It is soft to the touch and moves.
  • It usually appears after age 35.
  • It is very common on the inner thighs and inner arms.
  • It usually doesn't hurt and can be treated successfully.

Hard or compact cellulite

Toned tissues, rigid nodules that are hard to the touch.

  • It is often associated with stretch marks.
  • It is common in young women and/or athletes.
  • Skin temperature changes may occur.
  • It can be painful at times.
  • It is identified by the pinch test
  • It is usually located in the thighs, buttocks and trochanters, anterior aspect of the knees, buttocks.

Edomatous cellulitis

This type of cellulite is the most severe and, fortunately, the least common. It is caused by fluid retention.

  • It is located mainly in the lower legs, although it can also affect the thighs and knees.
  • It gives the leg a column-like appearance.
  • Its consistency is viscous or pasty with knots.
  • It may be painful to the touch.
  • A thickening of the epidermis is noticeable to the touch.

Mixed cellulite

As its name suggests, more than one type of cellulite in different locations on the same person.

What do I do now?

Once you have a better understanding of the type of cellulite you have (it's usually a combination of several types), you can begin to treat it. Since we don't want to overwhelm you, we've compiled a list of individual tips that you can transform into small routines, goals, or objectives.

-Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day or, if water isn't your thing, try livening it up with a slice of cucumber or a squeeze of lemon and ginger.

-At least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Not an athlete? Then take a nice walk with a friend.

-Express massage. Take advantage of the cream application time to give yourself a massage, always from the bottom up. It's a small gesture with a big impact on your cellulite.

-Avoid smoking. Because one day it was a sign of glamour, but today it's a sign of the opposite, and the accumulation of toxins is very noticeable on your skin.

-Reduce your alcohol consumption, especially from Monday to Friday; you can and should avoid temptation.

Tight clothing can restrict blood and lymphatic circulation, which can worsen the appearance of cellulite. Leggings are fine, but not every day.

Loose clothing suits her better.

-Sleep as many hours as you need, if it's 8, then 8, if it's 7, then 7. Because sleep is the best therapy for almost everything, and if your mind rests, your skin does too.

Blanca, CEO and founder of SKINVITY, tells us this: “In my opinion, the key to achieving powerful and rapid results is not to focus on just one treatment . Combining technologies like the Glo 910+ lymphatic drainage massage with the TriPollar Pose VX radiofrequency and DMA, being consistent , and addressing the underlying causes are essential. Changing harmful habits is also fundamental; otherwise, the effectiveness of the devices is reduced. However, if, alongside the sessions, we incorporate increased water intake or drainage drinks, a balanced diet, specific cosmetics with beneficial active ingredients, and the support of daily exercise, the results are amplified.”
