Beauty in the Metaverse

The metaverse, that word that keeps popping up everywhere lately. Since Meta announced the opening of its first physical space in California on May 9th, many brands have made the leap into this new universe, and beauty brands couldn't be left behind.
First came the beauty brands, who settled comfortably into the marketplace. Well-known brands that we all use are already there, like Zara. And now it's beauty's turn, because as we all know: BEAUTY IS EVERYWHERE.
How does the meta universe or metaverse work?
It is a concept created in 1992 where a 3D version of the internet is given; it is essentially a parallel universe that allows people to meet, live and feel real experiences from the comfort of their homes.
Although it seems like something from the very distant future, this universe allows us to discover perfumes and makeup, shop with friends, create our own avatar, and chat in another world. This concept has been growing for years, but its peak development began during the COVID-19 crisis and continues to increase.

What beauty brands can be found?
We have made a selection of brands that you can already find and that we think are absolutely wonderful.
CLINIQUE
One of the first brands to venture into the metaverse. They launched their entry through a contest featuring three exclusive NFTs, with the prize being a set of products to be won annually for ten years. The winner also received a unique creation within the metaverse.
FENTY
Rihanna's cosmetics brand couldn't be left behind and has already announced its inclusion in this universe. It's still unknown how exclusive the products will be, but they've certainly sparked interest, and her fans are eagerly awaiting their release.
NARS
Their Orgasm Experience campaign centered around the brand's most special shade, Orgasm. Three creators were invited to share their vision of this particular shade, and the result was an NFT artwork inspired by sensory experiences. But Nars didn't stop there; they created their own video game where you can create makeup looks using the brand's products, and the result is incredible.
