Why cellulite doesn't disappear even if you exercise and watch your diet — and what your skin really needs to improve it

by Belén

You've tried everything. More water, less salt, more cardio, less sugar. Anti-cellulite creams that promised results in four weeks. Manual massages. Cold wraps. And yet, the cellulite is still there — on your thighs, on your glutes, on your abdomen — not responding to any of these efforts as you expected.

It's not a lack of consistency. It's because you're attacking the symptom, not the cause.

What cellulite really is — and why it's not just a matter of weight

Cellulite affects 85-90% of adult women, regardless of their weight, build, or level of physical activity. This should already tell you something: it is not a direct consequence of being overweight or leading a sedentary life. It is a structural alteration of the tissue that has multiple and specific causes.

Physiologically, cellulite is the result of three factors acting simultaneously:

Localized fat accumulation in the subcutaneous tissue. Adipose cells enlarge and exert upward pressure, deforming the skin's surface.

Alteration of microcirculation. When lymphatic and blood circulation do not flow efficiently, tissues retain fluids and toxins that aggravate local inflammation and hinder fat elimination.

Fibrosis of connective tissue. The fibrous septa that connect the skin to deeper tissues harden and retract, pulling the surface inward and creating the characteristic irregular "orange peel" appearance.

The problem is that exercise and diet primarily act on the first factor — localized fat — but have little impact on microcirculation and fibrosis. That's why the results, when there are any, are partial and slow.

Why anti-cellulite creams are not enough

Anti-cellulite creams contain active ingredients like caffeine, retinol, or plant extracts that, at best, improve superficial microcirculation and have a temporary tightening effect. But their penetration capacity is limited by the epidermal barrier — they do not reach the depth where localized fat is found, nor can they break the fibrous septa of the connective tissue.

They are a useful complement, not a solution.

What technology acts on the three real causes of cellulite

To effectively address cellulite, treatment needs to act in depth — in the subcutaneous tissue where fat accumulates, in the microcirculation, and in the structure of the connective tissue. Until recently, this was only possible in specialized centers. Today, two home-use technologies allow this to be done with proven clinical efficacy.

Mechanical subdermal massage — Glo 910 PRO

Deep subdermal massage acts directly on localized fat deposits and fibrous septa, mobilizing and helping to eliminate accumulated toxins that cause the cellulite process.

The Glo 910 PRO is the first home-use device with proven efficacy in treating cellulite and localized fat. Its high-power motor — with up to 40 minutes of autonomy — performs a deep subdermal massage on the most problematic areas: abdomen, thighs, and glutes.

In addition to the mechanical action, it features Dual SLIMtech® technology: a combination of red LED and infrared NIR light that penetrates different levels of the skin, stimulating collagen synthesis and improving the elasticity of connective tissue from within. Its 4 interchangeable heads allow the treatment to be adapted to each area and objective.

Pneumatic pressotherapy — PressTech

Pressotherapy acts directly on the second factor: microcirculation. By sequentially compressing and decompressing tissues, it activates lymphatic drainage, improves venous return, and facilitates the elimination of retained fluids and toxins.

SKINVITY's PressTech goes beyond conventional systems that only cover the legs. Its ergonomic pants with 6 overlapping pneumatic chambers work from the ankles to the abdominal area, glutes, and groin — key areas of the lymphatic system that other devices ignore. With adjustable pressure between 30 and 260 mmHg and 6 programmable compression modes, each session adapts to the day's objective.

The most effective protocol for treating cellulite at home

Attacking all three causes simultaneously requires combining both technologies in a structured weekly routine:

  • Monday / Wednesday / Friday: Glo 910 PRO — 15-20 minutes per area on clean skin with dry oil or conductive gel. Constant circular motion, without excessive pressure.
  • Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday: PressTech — 20-30 minutes per session in Sequential Mode to maximize lymphatic drainage. Apply an anti-cellulite gel before the session to enhance absorption.

Consistency for at least 8 weeks is what makes the difference between a temporary result and a visible structural improvement.

Social proof and observed results

The combined use of subdermal massage and pressotherapy is the reference protocol in specialized aesthetic centers for cellulite treatment. The difference is that now it can be replicated at home, with the same efficacy and without travel.

PressTech has been recognized with the TELVA Beauty Award 2025 and the Universal Beauty Awards 2026 — Best Beauty Device, endorsing its efficacy and quality as a home-use pressotherapy device.

Frequently asked questions

Does cellulite disappear completely with these devices? Cellulite is a structural condition that can improve significantly with continued treatment, but it does not disappear permanently without maintenance. With regular use, skin texture visibly improves, and "orange peel" skin is notably reduced.

How long until results are seen? With PressTech, reduced swelling and heaviness are noticed from the first session. With Glo 910 PRO, changes in skin texture begin to be visible after 3-4 weeks with regular use.

Do they work without diet or exercise? They work alone, but results are multiplied when combined with physical activity and adequate hydration. Exercise improves general circulation, and diet reduces systemic inflammation — both enhance the effects of the technology.

Are they safe for all skin types? Yes, both devices are designed for safe home use. With the Glo 910 PRO, some people may experience temporary redness in sensitive areas — this is normal and disappears quickly. It is recommended to start with the lowest intensity and gradually increase.

How much time should be dedicated per session? With 15-20 minutes of Glo 910 PRO and 20-30 minutes of PressTech, 3 times a week each, it is enough to see cumulative results in 8 weeks.

Can PressTech and Glo 910 PRO be used on the same day? Yes. If you use them in the same session, start with Glo 910 PRO to mobilize fat and toxins, and finish with PressTech to activate drainage and facilitate their elimination.

Cellulite doesn't disappear with willpower or creams. It disappears when you attack its three real causes — with the right technology and the necessary consistency.
