Qué es el recovery físico y por qué lo vivimos en el retiro de Crys Dyaz en Galicia

What is physical recovery and why did we experience it at the Crys Dyaz retreat in Galicia?

by Belén

Last Friday, SKINVITY participated in the wellness retreat organized by Crys Dyaz at Espazo Nature, Razo, Galicia. After a stretching class, attendees went through a recovery circuit with three of our devices: PressTech, the Infrared LED Mat, and the Silicone LED Mask.

What caught our attention most were not the devices themselves, but the questions. Everyone wanted to understand the same thing: why does the body need to recover after exertion, and not just rest?

It's a good question, and the answer has more science behind it than it seems.

What is physical recovery (and why it's not the same as resting)

Resting is ceasing movement. Recovery is actively helping the body process what exercise or physical exertion has generated in the tissues: muscle tension, fluid retention, local inflammation, accumulation of metabolites.

The body can do this work on its own, given time. But there are technologies that accelerate and improve this process, working directly on circulation, lymphatic drainage, and cellular regeneration.

That's exactly what happened in the retreat's recovery circuit: three different technologies, each acting on a different aspect of body recovery.

Pressotherapy: drainage and circulation with PressTech

PressTech uses sequential air pressure to activate blood and lymphatic circulation. The sensation is one of pressure waves moving through the legs, abdomen, and glutes, helping to mobilize retained fluids and reduce that feeling of heavy legs so common after standing or sitting for many hours.

At the retreat, it was the most sought-after device after the movement class. It makes sense: it's the most intuitive to understand, because the feeling of relief is immediate.

Photobiomodulation: cellular regeneration with the Infrared LED Mat

The Infrared LED Mat works very differently. It's not pressure, it's light. Specifically, three wavelengths that penetrate different tissue depths and stimulate cellular energy production (ATP), reduce inflammatory response, and accelerate muscle recovery.

It's the technology that is least understood at first glance, because it doesn't generate as obvious a physical sensation as pressotherapy. But it is precisely the one that acts deepest, in the muscle and connective tissue.

Facial LED light: why recovery is also for the skin

The Silicone LED Mask was not designed for muscles, but for the skin. Physical stress and fatigue are also noticeable on the face, and LED light stimulates collagen, improves luminosity, and helps the skin recover in the same way the body needs to recover after exertion.

Including it in the circuit made sense: recovery is not just about the body. It's about integral well-being.

Why SKINVITY was at this retreat

Crys Dyaz has been building spaces for years where movement, health, and self-care are understood together and without aesthetic pressure. We share that vision: technology doesn't replace the body, it accompanies it. And physical recovery is one of the least explained and most needed parts of self-care.

If after exercising, traveling, or spending many hours on your feet, you feel that your body needs something more than rest, perhaps it's time to understand what technology can help you recover better.
