Recuperación postparto: cómo acompañar al cuerpo con la tecnología cosmética de SKINVITY

Postpartum recovery: how to support your body with SKINVITY cosmetic technology

by Belén

Postpartum transforms the body in ways that are rarely spoken about with sincerity. It is not only the silhouette that changes: the skin, circulation, muscle tissue, inflammation levels, sleep quality and cellular energy all change. These are real, measurable changes that deserve an equally real response.

This post is not an aesthetic recovery guide. It is a wellbeing guide. About how technology can accompany the body through one of its most demanding processes.

Important note: Every postpartum experience is different. Every body, every birth and every recovery is unique. Before incorporating any device into your postpartum routine, always consult your doctor or midwife. We do not set timelines because that is not our place to do so: that decision belongs to you and your medical team.

What happens to the body after birth

Clinical context

The postpartum period is not only recovery from birth. It is a profound biological reorganisation: the hormonal system recalibrates, connective tissue remodels, circulation redistributes and the immune system works at full capacity. Understanding what happens at each level is the foundation for knowing which technology can help and when.

What changesWhat happens in the bodyHow it manifests
Connective tissue and skinThe abdominal skin has been under progressive tension for months. Collagen and elastin need time to reorganise. Abdominal diastasis (separation of the rectus muscles) is common.Abdominal laxity, loss of tone, stretch marks, irregular skin texture.
Circulation and fluid retentionThe venous and lymphatic system has been under sustained pressure. In the immediate postpartum period, fluid retention and a feeling of heaviness in the legs and limbs is common.Swollen legs, heaviness, general retention.
Systemic inflammationBirth, whether vaginal or by caesarean, triggers a natural inflammatory repair process. A caesarean adds an additional layer of inflammatory response from the surgical wound.Feeling of stiffness, general discomfort, swelling in the lower abdominal area.
Pelvic floor and core musculatureBoth vaginal birth and caesarean have a direct impact on the pelvic floor and the deep abdominal muscles.Muscle weakness, lower back pain, fatigue with movement.
Rest and cellular energySleep deprivation in the postpartum period is not just a fatigue problem: it directly impacts cellular regeneration, immune response and hormonal balance.Deep fatigue, dull skin, slow recovery, irritability.
Facial skinPostpartum hormonal changes directly affect facial collagen synthesis, hydration and skin tone homogeneity. Melasma or pregnancy-related pigmentation may intensify or persist.Loss of luminosity, uneven tone, dark spots, duller skin than usual.

What technology can do in the postpartum period

It is not about artificially accelerating a process that has its own rhythm. It is about accompanying it: reducing inflammation, improving circulation, activating cellular regeneration and supporting rest. Without aggression.

Infrared LED Mat

Full-body photobiomodulation · 630 nm + 830 nm + 1072 nm · 20 minutes

The Infrared LED Mat is arguably the most relevant device in the postpartum period because it works systemically: it does not treat a zone, it treats the whole body. Its more than 3,700 emitter points in direct contact with the skin activate ATP production in the mitochondria, regulate inflammation and stimulate collagen synthesis throughout the body.

Why it is especially useful in the postpartum period:

Infrared light at 830 nm acts directly on functional inflammation markers. In a body that has just gone through the birth process, reducing systemic inflammation is not aesthetic: it is real wellbeing. At the same time, stimulation of natural melatonin through red light at 630 nm contributes to improving sleep quality, one of the scarcest resources in the immediate postpartum period.

For abdominal skin, fibroblast activation stimulates the progressive synthesis of collagen and elastin, accompanying the structural recovery of the tissue from the inside. And for muscle recovery, the bioenergetics of 830 nm helps reduce moderate muscle pain and accelerate fibre repair.

PressTech

Home pressotherapy · Full trouser design · 6 chambers · 30–260 mmHg

Fluid retention and heavy legs are two of the most frequent complaints in the postpartum period. The venous and lymphatic system, which has been under sustained pressure throughout pregnancy, needs to be reactivated. PressTech replicates the mechanism of manual lymphatic drainage through ascending sequential pressure, from the ankle to the abdomen.

Why it is especially useful in the postpartum period:

Unlike other home pressotherapy devices that only cover the legs, PressTech includes the groin, abdomen and glutes, where the main lymph nodes of the lower trunk are located. Without stimulating these areas, drainage remains incomplete.

Improved microcirculation has a direct impact on tissue recovery: better tissue oxygenation, more efficient elimination of toxins and metabolic waste, and progressive reduction of swelling. Sequential mode is the reference for drainage; Full Pressure mode for deep muscle relaxation.

Always consult your doctor before using PressTech postpartum, especially after a caesarean or any complication. The abdominal area may require specific precautions.

Silicone LED Mask

Facial photobiomodulation · 5 wavelengths · 30 mW/cm² · 10 minutes

The face reflects postpartum in ways that are not always discussed: loss of luminosity, uneven tone, persistent pregnancy-related pigmentation, duller skin and signs of fatigue that scarce sleep does not help combat. The Silicone LED Mask addresses all of these through the photobiomodulation mechanism.

Why it is especially useful in the postpartum period:

Red light at 630 nm activates fibroblasts and stimulates collagen synthesis, helping to restore the firmness and density of facial skin that hormonal changes may have affected. Blue light at 470 nm helps control blemishes that appear with postpartum hormonal imbalances. And the combination of infrared wavelengths (830 nm, 930 nm and 1072 nm) improves microcirculation and deep cellular regeneration.

With just 10 minutes per session, it is one of the most time-accessible self-care gestures for a new mother. And it has an additional documented benefit: exposure to red light before sleep supports natural melatonin production, improving rest quality.

TriPollar POSE

Body radiofrequency · Laxity and cellulite treatment · Home use

Postpartum abdominal skin has been under sustained tension for months. The result is a loss of firmness and density in the tissue that physical activity alone cannot address in the first months. TriPollar POSE works directly on this through body radiofrequency that generates controlled heat in the dermis, activating neocollagenesis and improving the structural firmness of the tissue.

Why it is especially useful in the postpartum period:

Radiofrequency is non-invasive and acts on the dermal layers without direct physical impact. In the postpartum abdomen, where the skin has lost elasticity and the connective tissue needs to reorganise, progressive collagen stimulation offers real structural improvement. The visible tightening effect from the first sessions also provides a perceptible short-term benefit.

Always consult your doctor before starting treatment, especially after a caesarean. Wait for complete wound recovery before applying the device to the abdominal area.

Glo 910 PRO

Anti-cellulite massager with LED phototherapy · 4 heads · Dual SLIMtech® technology

Cellulite and localised fat that may intensify during and after pregnancy have a specific cause: the accumulation of fat, fluids and toxins in the connective tissue that diet or exercise alone cannot resolve. The Glo 910 PRO works through deep subdermal massage that mobilises these deposits, combined with Dual SLIMtech® red and infrared LED technology that acts on tissue firmness and elasticity.

Why it is especially useful in the postpartum period:

Its four interchangeable heads allow the treatment to be adapted according to the goal and the stage of recovery: the cellu-detox head to support drainage of what has been mobilised, the soft-massage head for a gentler start, and the cellu-active head to work on cellulite in more advanced phases. The combination with PressTech is particularly powerful: the Glo 910 PRO mobilises and the pressotherapy drains, completing the process.

Consult your doctor before using it on the abdomen, especially in early postpartum or after a caesarean. Higher intensity heads should be introduced gradually.

A phase-based approach, not a date-based one

We cannot tell you which week to start. What we can offer is a framework for understanding what the body needs at each stage of recovery, and which device responds best to that need. Your doctor or midwife is the one who must validate when you are ready for each one.

Initial phase
Rest, inflammation and first wellbeing gestures The body is in full acute repair mode. The goal is not yet to recover anything: it is to accompany. The Infrared LED Mat, with its systemic anti-inflammatory action and ability to improve rest quality, is the device with the lowest physical impact and the greatest wellbeing potential at this stage. Consult your doctor before using it.
Mid phase
Circulation, drainage and connective tissue When acute inflammation subsides and the body enters the tissue reorganisation phase, circulation and lymphatic drainage become a priority. PressTech can support the elimination of fluid retention and reactivation of venous return. The Silicone LED Mask can begin to work on facial regeneration. Always with prior medical validation.
Advanced phase
Firmness, density and structural recovery With recovery consolidated and medical clearance obtained, the body is ready to work on tissue firmness and density more actively. TriPollar POSE can be incorporated for abdominal structural recovery. The Glo 910 PRO can address cellulite and localised fat more intensively. The combination of Infrared LED Mat and PressTech remains relevant for consolidating circulation and systemic wellbeing.
Maintenance
Long-term wellbeing routine Postpartum does not end at a specific moment. The recovery of connective tissue and skin is a process that extends over months. A maintenance routine combining devices according to goals and time availability is the most sustainable way to consolidate results.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these devices while breastfeeding?
Always consult your doctor or midwife. The Infrared LED Mat and Silicone LED Mask work through light, not heat or electrical current, so their safety profile is favourable. For TriPollar POSE (radiofrequency), we recommend consulting specifically with your doctor during the breastfeeding period. For PressTech, also check if there are any specific precautions in your case.
When can I start using the Infrared LED Mat after birth?
We do not set timelines because every postpartum is different and that decision belongs to your medical team. What we can tell you is that the Infrared LED Mat is the device with the lowest direct physical impact: it works through light, with no pressure or heat. Consult your doctor or midwife about when the right time is for you.
Is it safe to use PressTech on the abdominal area after a caesarean?
We do not recommend it until you have explicit clearance from your doctor. The caesarean scar requires a specific healing time and pressure in that area may not be appropriate until recovery is sufficiently advanced. PressTech allows chambers to be deactivated independently, which may facilitate its use in intermediate phases as directed by your doctor.
Does the LED Mat help with postpartum stretch marks?
Photobiomodulation activates collagen and elastin synthesis through fibroblasts, contributing to progressively improving the quality and texture of skin tissue. On recent stretch marks (still pink or red), where the tissue is in an active remodelling process, the response may be more visible than on older, already whitened stretch marks. Results are gradual and require consistency.
Can I use the Silicone LED Mask for pregnancy-related pigmentation?
Red light and infrared contribute to improving overall skin tone homogeneity and luminosity. For pregnancy melasma, which has a hormonal origin, LED technology can help improve appearance but does not replace specific dermatological treatment if the pigmentation is intense or persistent. Consult a dermatologist if melasma is a significant concern for you.
In what order should I use the Glo 910 PRO and PressTech?
Always Glo 910 PRO first, then PressTech. The subdermal massage of the Glo mobilises fat deposits and reactivates microcirculation in the treated areas. The pressotherapy collects that work and facilitates the lymphatic elimination of what has been mobilised. The reverse order does not produce the same effect.
How much time per day do I need to dedicate to these devices?
The Infrared LED Mat requires 20 minutes per session and you can use it lying down without doing anything else. The Silicone LED Mask, 10 minutes. PressTech, between 20 and 30 minutes. TriPollar POSE, 10–12 minutes. There is no need to use all of them every day: a protocol distributed across the week according to availability and goals is perfectly effective and sustainable.
