SKIN FASTING Do you already know what it consists of?

The new trend that wants you to ditch your moisturizer . This trend, which originated in Japan, promotes skin fasting and minimal care with natural ingredients, based on the idea that less is more.
According to its proponents, this skin detox promotes detoxification and the proper functioning of this organ, which is the largest in the body, arguing that it already has its own hydration and regulation mechanisms that are altered by the excessive use of cosmetics.
Indeed, nature is wise, and the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin) is designed to keep the skin hydrated . According to some experts, if we apply too much moisture to our skin, it will stop hydrating itself. This is a proven fact.
Proponents of skin fasting claim that it takes between two and three weeks to notice the effects ; in some cases, they advocate for one night or day a week without using any cosmetics whatsoever . Most proponents of this new approach exclude sunscreen, considering it an essential part of our health , and also forgo specific treatments required for certain dermatological conditions.
While this new trend has some followers, we at SKINVITY aren't entirely convinced . For us, a good cleanse with a skin-friendly soap and proper hydration are key to keeping our skin looking its best . And although we understand that active ingredients are sometimes misused (sometimes they're duplicated in different treatments or not used as frequently as needed), to avoid this misuse, it's best to be well-informed. If we don't have the time, the ideal solution is to maintain a more basic routine but not to forgo the cosmetics that have brought us so much joy .
