SKINVITY PressTech, new version: how it differs from the previous at-home pressotherapy model
by LauraShare
Tired legs at the end of the day, swollen ankles, a feeling of heaviness or retention in the groin, abdominal area and glutes. These are very common complaints, especially when we spend many hours sitting or standing, and they have a lot to do with how fluids and toxins circulate in the body.
PressTech is SKINVITY's at-home pressotherapy device: air chamber trousers connected to a compressor that applies progressive pressure to the legs to support drainage and circulation, at home.
Now there is a new version of SKINVITY PressTech. It keeps the same core technology and improves three key aspects: it goes from 6 to 8 overlapping pneumatic chambers, replaces manual settings with 4 guided programmes and comes in two sizes (S-M and L-XL). In this article we explain what pressotherapy is, what PressTech is for and, point by point, how the new version differs from the previous model.
What pressotherapy is and how it works
Air compression pressotherapy wraps the legs in chambers that inflate and deflate progressively, from the feet upwards. This pressure helps to mobilise retained fluids and toxins and to stimulate circulation.
In a pressotherapy device, the number of chambers and the way the compression modes are sequenced are two of the factors that matter most: they determine how many zones are worked separately and how the pressure moves along the leg.
What PressTech is for
PressTech is designed for regular care of the legs and lower body. Its main benefits are:
- Drainage of fluids and toxins. Progressive pressure helps to mobilise fluids and toxins retained in the legs, groin, abdominal area and glutes.
- Stimulated circulation. It supports venous return and relieves the feeling of tired, heavy legs.
- Immediate effect on the ankles. It is common to notice less swollen ankles from the very first session.
- A complement during a weight loss plan. It works best during the process rather than afterwards. Pressotherapy does not make you lose weight on its own, but it does complement healthy habits.
- Leg recovery. It also helps the legs rest after exercise.
What changes in the new PressTech: the comparison
The new PressTech keeps the sequential air pressure of the previous model and improves how precisely it is distributed, how easy it is to use and how well it fits each body.
| What to look at | Previous PressTech | New PressTech |
|---|---|---|
| Chambers | 6 overlapping pneumatic chambers | 8 overlapping, independent pneumatic chambers |
| Technology | Sequential air pressure | Sequential air pressure, with enhanced distribution across 8 zones |
| Programmes | 6 manually selected compression modes | 4 guided programmes: Drainage, Circulation, Recovery and Complete |
| Settings | The user chooses pressure, time and mode separately | You choose the goal and the device manages the sequence |
| Default duration | 30 minutes | Between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the programme |
| Sizes | One size (up to S-M) with extender included | Two sizes: S-M and L-XL |
| Size extender | Included (+5 cm per side) | Not needed, covered by the L-XL size |
| Warranty | 3 years from delivery | 3 years from delivery |
From 6 to 8 overlapping pneumatic chambers
Each chamber is a zone that inflates separately. Going from 6 to 8 independent chambers brings:
- Greater precision. More independent compression zones, with sequential air pressure distributed across 8 zones.
- Full trouser coverage. The 8 chambers cover all the compression zones of the trousers, including the groin, abdominal area and glutes.
From 6 manual modes to 4 guided programmes
This is probably the change you will notice most in everyday use.
In the previous model, the user set pressure, time and mode separately. There were six modes available: Normal, Sequential, Double wave, Full pressure and two combinations (Sequential + Double wave, and Normal + Double wave + Full pressure). It gave a lot of control, but it also meant knowing which mode to choose at each moment.
In the new PressTech, you choose the goal of the session and the device automatically sequences the right compression modes. The four base modes remain (Normal, Sequential, Double wave and Full pressure), but they are now sequenced by the programmes.
| Programme | Duration |
|---|---|
| Drainage | 20 min |
| Circulation | 15 min |
| Recovery | 15 min |
| Complete | 30 min |
In practice, this means shorter sessions when time is tight (15 minutes compared with the 30 minute default of the previous model) and no doubts about how to set up the device.
Two sizes instead of one
The previous model came in a single size, designed up to S-M (waist 96 cm, hip 121 cm), and included an extender of +5 cm per side to fit up to EU size 42.
The new PressTech comes in two sizes, with the compression trousers already sized for each body:
| Size | Waist | Hip |
|---|---|---|
| S-M | 120 cm | 123 cm |
| L-XL | 140 cm | 145 cm |
The extender is no longer in the box because it is no longer needed: the L-XL size covers those measurements.
Changes in use and in the box
In addition to the main changes, there are smaller adjustments to the control panel:
- Start/Pause button. Replaces the previous ON/Pause button.
- "Chambers" button. Replaces the "Position" button for selecting the chambers.
What is in the box of the new PressTech: control panel (compressor), Y connector, 2 hoses, power supply, air chamber trousers and travel bag. The contents are the same as the previous model, without the size extender.
What stays the same: the 3 year legal warranty from the delivery date and the manufacturer, Femtechnology S.L.
How to use PressTech to get the most out of it
A few useful guidelines for either model:
- Drink water before the session and avoid eating during the hour beforehand.
- Start with less pressure and increase it gradually. People with high blood pressure may feel dizzy if they start with too much pressure.
- Recommended frequency: 2 or 3 sessions a week, although it can be used daily.
- Cosmetic complement: it can be used together with an anti-cellulite serum.
PressTech complements your usual cosmetic routine as well as cosmetic and medical aesthetic treatments.
How to combine it with other SKINVITY devices
If you want to work on the body more completely, PressTech fits into a combined routine following this order:
| Step | Device | What it adds to the routine |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Glo 910 PRO | Subdermal massage and LED phototherapy for firmness, texture and the appearance of the skin |
| 2 | PressTech | Drainage of fluids and toxins and stimulated circulation |
| 3 | TriPollar POSE Vx | Body radiofrequency to work on firmness and improve the appearance of the skin |
| 4 | Infrared LED Mat | LED phototherapy that acts at cellular level |
For a slimming treatment, the most common combination is Glo 910 PRO + PressTech. For a firming treatment, PressTech + TriPollar POSE Vx.

When to see your doctor
At-home pressotherapy is a cosmetic treatment, not a medical treatment. Check with your doctor first if:
- You are pregnant.
- You notice recurring or severe swelling, pain or fluid retention: in that case, the answer is a professional assessment.
Not recommended for people under 16.

Quick glossary
Pressotherapy: a technique that applies pressure to the legs through air chambers to support the drainage of fluids and toxins and circulation. Pneumatic chamber: each of the air compartments in the trousers that inflates and deflates independently. Sequential compression: the chambers inflate one by one, progressively. Double wave: a mode in which the chambers inflate and deflate two by two. Full pressure: a mode in which the whole trousers inflate at once and then deflate, focused on circulation and recovery.
In summary
SKINVITY PressTech brings pressotherapy home to support the drainage of fluids and toxins and circulation. Its new version keeps the essence of the previous model, sequential air pressure, and takes it one step further: 8 overlapping pneumatic chambers that distribute pressure more precisely, 4 guided programmes that remove manual settings and two sizes that fit each body better. Fewer decisions, more consistency, and consistency is what truly makes the difference.
