Tech neck: we tell you what it is and how to improve it

by Blanca

If you want to know what it is, go to a mirror and look at the horizontal lines on your neck, also known as Venus rings. If you've actually found them, the only thing you'll like about them is the name Tech Neck .

Tech neck is the name we give to wrinkles that have always been one of the main concerns of women, but the use of technology, especially mobile phones, has brought forward their appearance and intensified their appearance .

The problem is that the skin on the neck is thinner than facial skin and isn't as well-vascularized , meaning that nutrients and oxygen don't reach it in the same way as, for example, the face. If we add to this the fact that the neck is often neglected in beauty routines (in most cases we forget to apply serums and creams, and especially sunscreen), we frequently see women with the facial skin of a 40-year-old and the neck of a 45-50-year-old.

What causes these wrinkles to appear prematurely and intensify is that when we look at our mobile phone, tablet or computer, in most cases we lower our face to look, and this up and down motion, and keeping the neck flexed, is what causes it .

What can we do? 4 tips

1) The best thing is to be aware, and when we notice that we are in this position, do our best to raise the device to eye level and avoid spending too much time with our neck flexed .

2) There are also some very simple and quick exercises we can do , take note:

  • With your gaze almost on the ceiling and your neck stretched out, purse your lips as if you were going to kiss without closing them completely, like making fish lips, and hold the position for 10 seconds. We recommend doing between 3 and 5 repetitions.
  • With your head upright, open your mouth almost as wide as possible and gently move your lower jaw in and out. Repeat 3 sets of 10 repetitions each.

3) Don't forget to apply serum, moisturizer and sunscreen , your neck will thank you.

4) If you already have your TriPollar Stop X device, you can use it on your neck and décolletage at intensity level 1 , avoiding passing it over the trachea. Use it for 3 to 5 minutes on each side of the trachea and 5-7 minutes on the décolletage.
